The Baby Shower Diaper Cake

Ahhh, the diaper cakes, staple gift of the traditional baby shower. They always look so pretty and expensive, but did you know they’re really easy to make? After all, a diaper cake is basically just a bunch of diapers type up with a ribbon, with a few gifts and decorations added here and there.

First ask is to decide who will be in charge of creating the cake. This is actually a really fun process so if no one volunteers I highly recommend you keep this to yourself. The total cost is rarely over $50 and you’ll find most of the items you need while shopping for other items you’ll need during your baby shower (or of course you can buy your diaper cake form us, either in pieces or assembled).

What you will need

Let’s start off with a list of items you can include in your diaper cake:

  • Diapers
  • Ribbon
  • Washcloths
  • Blankets
  • Decorations
  • Toys

As well, here is what you will need to get it to stay together:

  • Cardboard
  • Rubber bands
  • Empty paper towel roll
  • Pencil
  • Tape
